Heyy whatsup?? It's Maha1997xx <3 I am going to write this journal because there is something I really wanna share and I am REALLY sick of hearing it from various people -.- I am CONSTANTLY repeating the same stuff over and over again to various people. Eventually just grew tired of it and decided to write a journal. (gomen georgesyip for doing this without permission...)
So here is the thing. A lot of people start talking about stuff like''my art is so awefull'', ''I am never going to improve'', ''I am going to stop drawing because there are so many people who are better than me'', etc.
Like serieusly?! Gomen, but I find it extremely pathetic xD (;⌣̀_⌣́). For everyone who says that, you should know that it is scientifically proven that your body and soul listens to your words. With other words you won't ever improve if you say those things to yourself.
An advice from artist to artist <3 dont ever say that about yourself! Not only does it make people think less of you and makes you think lesser of yourself. When you draw you express your deepest inner feelings. If you say to yourself that ''you arent a good artist'' or ''my art is less beautifull than others'' your drawings will only show despair and sorrow or nothing at all... Emotionless....
Of course there are better artist out there. But isnt that great?? It makes us want to work hard to surpass them <3 So that one day they look up to us like idols :3 Also know that these artists (incl me...) worked really hard to improve!! There is no shortcut. its true that one is faster than the other but either way it takes a hell lot of energy, effort and motivation!!
Nevertheless everyone has different taste when it comes to art. But most importantly learn to LOVE ur art before you expect others to love it <3
This is an improvement group. We, the admins, can help you guys to IMPROVE but for that you will start to stand 100% for the level you want to accieve and never stop believing you can!!
xoxo
Maha
P.s. One thing I want to add is that I find it annoying when people say ''its just I don't feel my art lives up to the art of other artists such as yourself. I feel that my art is just ok'' to me. It hurts my feelings to hear people think that I think less of other peoples art. I can assure you that other artist would feel the same if they hear those words....
Thats it, dont feel like saying more ^^.

Submissions
I have considered to simply accept all submissions, so long as they're submitted to the correct folder, and are anime/manga styled.
This group was created by Georgesyip 4 years ago with the purpose to give critique to other artists when we still could. To my knowledge, most of the staff have now left or gone inactive, and even before that, too many submissions were coming in for us to catch up with. You can imagine the process of checking each submission, the folder they're being submitted to, the contents, description, clicking Yes or No, or writing a comment within the submission, and finally giving critique to every single piece we accept

Why we can't make contests.
Hey guys, you've noticed a clear absence in a contest of Halloween's this year. The reason for that is because we simply don't have any admins who are available to contribute whatever donations that would have served as prizes for our potential contestants, and, knowing how crucial it is that a contest have prizes (more on my conclusion of that later), we can't create something having nothing to support it with.
Last journal posted on August 9th was an attempt to create an event that would hopefully encourage some activity in the group, as I care for such after all, but as expected, with nothing that would perhaps motivate someone to partici

Totally agree ^^ I was once an artist that thought I wouldn't be able to paint like my idols and now I'm getting close to that path now. Just a matter of pushing yourself into improving of course. If you keep telling yourself you won't improve you wouldn't obviously xD
I see artists that wants to improve and draw good but they don't really do anything at all. You know that kind of skill takes a lot of practice and time, you can't expect it to just be a good artist one day o.O Want to be a good artist? then DRAW not just sit down and wallow about how your art is not good. Do something about it and you will see C:
